3 World Championships are set to kick off on Monday, September 2, in Hamilton, New Zealand. This prestigious event is organized by the Predator Pro Billiard Series in partnership with Massé and the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). The competition will be held at the Claudelands Event Centre, featuring the Men’s World 8-Ball, Women’s World 9-Ball, and Junior World 10-Ball Championships, with top players from around the globe vying for the titles.
Schedule
The Championships will run from September 2 to September 8, with the Men’s World 8-Ball Championship beginning on Monday, 12pm. The Women’s World 9-Ball and Junior World 10-Ball Championships will follow, starting on September 3 and 5, respectively. Matches will be scheduled daily, culminating in the finals on September 8.

Playing Formats
Each world championship is sanctioned by the WPA and will follow distinct formats:
- Yalin WPA Men’s World 8-Ball
- 64 players, $250,000 Prize Fund
- 8-Ball, winner’s break
- Races: Double elimination: single set, race to 8. Single elimination: single set, race to 10.
- Massé WPA Women’s World 9-Ball
- 48 players, $175,000 Prize Fund
- 9-Ball, winner’s break, no three-point rule. 9-ball on the foot spot.
- Sets format:
- Double elimination: best of 3 sets, each set is a race to 4, if the score is tied at 3-3 in the deciding set, a shootout determines the winner.
- Single elimination: best of 5 sets, each set is a race to 4, if the score is tied at 3-3 in the deciding set, a shootout determines the winner.
- Predator WPA Junior World 10-Ball
- 3 divisions, 24 players on each division
- Races: Girls: single set, race to 6. U17 and U19: single set, race to 7.
